{"id":8851,"date":"2025-10-23T11:00:04","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T09:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projecteaina.cat\/tech\/?p=8851"},"modified":"2025-12-30T16:32:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T15:32:13","slug":"aina-challenge-promotes-22-innovative-solutions-to-foster-business-adoption-of-artificial-intelligence-in-catalan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projecteaina.cat\/tech\/en\/aina-challenge-promotes-22-innovative-solutions-to-foster-business-adoption-of-artificial-intelligence-in-catalan\/","title":{"rendered":"The Aina Challenge promotes 22 innovative solutions to promote the business adoption of artificial intelligence in Catalan"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>The competition has selected 18 entities that will use resources generated by the Aina Project to demonstrate its maturity and viability in real environments.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Social care, health, justice, education, tourism and audiovisual are some of the key areas addressed by the awarded proposals.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>In total, one million euros will be allocated to accelerate these projects, with an allocation of between \u20ac33,000 and \u20ac50,000 for each one.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The jury of the tender procedure of the <a href=\"https:\/\/projecteaina.cat\/lab\/concurs\/\">Aina Challenge<\/a> , the program to accelerate the use and development of artificial intelligence tools in Catalan promoted and funded by the Generalitat de Catalunya and coordinated by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputaci\u00f3n (BSC-CNS) within the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/projecteaina.cat\">Aina Project<\/a> , promotes 22 innovative solutions to promote the business adoption of artificial intelligence in Catalan.<\/p>\n<p>The competition has selected 18 companies that will have a period of three months to develop the beta test ( <em>beta-testing<\/em> ) of an innovative AI solution in Catalan, using the resources of the Aina Project. The beta test is one of the final stages in the development of a <em>software<\/em> in which a group of users uses it before launch to detect errors and improve it. In this sense, the awarded entities will generate a total of 22 projects of natural language AI applications and services in Catalan to demonstrate the maturity and viability in real environments of these resources.  <\/p>\n<p>The Aina Challenge makes the set of tools developed at the BSC within the framework of the Aina Project available to these companies so that they can test them in projects of AI applications and services in Catalan not intended for commercial exploitation. In addition to promoting the collaboration of the supercomputing center with the industry and the AI \u200b\u200becosystem in Catalonia, the initiative is key to perfecting Catalan language technologies and guaranteeing their presence in the digital sphere. <\/p>\n<p>The awarded proposals address key areas such as social care, justice, health, education, tourism, audiovisual and public administration. Some stand out for their social and inclusive impact, such as an automatic speech recognition platform adapted to people with Down syndrome or people with cerebral palsy; an audio description system in Catalan for blind people; and an ethical, linguistic and social evaluation project for the use of virtual assistants to support people in vulnerable situations. <\/p>\n<p>In addition, other solutions are added, ranging from the anonymization of curricula and clinical information to machine translation, dubbing and multilingual subtitling. Also included are tools for the legal and regulatory sector, conversational and monitoring solutions, accessibility projects and evaluation and security initiatives. All of them highlight Catalan, and also Aranese, in real environments, demonstrating the maturity and viability of the resources of the Aina Project.  <\/p>\n<h4><strong>Triple challenge of AI in Catalan<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The first call for AI projects in Catalan posed three challenges:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop demonstrators of AI services or applications in Catalan.<\/li>\n<li>Create system demonstrators for monitoring, control or alignment in the use of AI in Catalan.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to Aina&#8217;s open resource ecosystem to help scale, adapt and make AI in Catalan more robust.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To respond to these three challenges, the following 18 entities have been awarded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Software and Multimedia Factory, SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Etiqmedia Soluciones Audiovisuales SL (Challenge 1 and Challenge 3)<\/li>\n<li>Connecthink Innovation SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Tagsonomy, SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Data Science Solutions SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Optimpeople SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Amplify Software SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>One Million Bot SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Recog Analytics SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>EiPM-Mena-Taberner Joint Venture (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>URV Foundation (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Association for the Development of Knowledge Engineering (ADIC) (Challenge 1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 3)<\/li>\n<li>ByFacility SL (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Siris Academic SLU (Challenge 1)<\/li>\n<li>Kloosiv Housing SCCL (Challenge 2)<\/li>\n<li>Alinia Ai Europe SL (Challenge 2)<\/li>\n<li>Private Foundation Hospital Asil de Granollers (Challenge 3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of the awarded proposals will receive a financial grant of between \u20ac33,000 and \u20ac50,000, depending on the challenge they have applied for. In total, \u20ac1 million will be allocated to accelerate these projects until the end of the year. <\/p>\n<p>With the formalization of the contracts by the selected awardees, the last stage of the Aina Challenge opens. The development phase has support channels and direct communication with the Aina Project technical team and the teams will have shared spaces and forums to ensure that all companies work with the same information. All resources developed within the framework of the project are available and can be consulted and downloaded publicly from the <a href=\"https:\/\/langtech-bsc.gitbook.io\/aina-kit\">Aina Kit<\/a> .  <\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Aina Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Promoted by the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia -through the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Employment and within the framework of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of Catalonia- and developed by the BSC, the Aina Project aims to generate and make available to everyone linguistic resources, corpora and computer models of the Catalan language so that companies that create applications based on AI and Language Technologies (TL), such as voice assistants, Internet search engines,
