November 8th and 9th at Espai Bital (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat). Registrations open until October 31st.
The Espai Bital, in Hospitalet de Llobregat, will host the Aina Hack on November 8 and 9, a hackathon promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya with the aim of contributing to the improvement of public services through solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) and of promoting the use of resources generated by the Aina Project to promote Catalan in the digital world. Registrations to participate in the competition are now open on the Aina Hack website (https://cidai.eu/ainahack/) and teams can register until October 31.
The Aina Hack is a competition in which, for 24 uninterrupted hours and in person, participating teams will have to develop an application with artificial intelligence aimed at solving challenges for the Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya. To achieve the objective, they will have to use resources generated by the Aina Project, promoted by the Government in collaboration with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) to promote the use of Catalan in the digital sphere through open, transparent and ethical AI. Aina resources are available in the Aina Kit, which includes language models and datasets available to developers of AI products and services and language technologies in Catalan.
Each participating team will have to solve one or more of the following challenges:
- Simplification and accessibility of administrative information
- Virtual assistance and automation of digital services
- Inclusion of Catalan dialects in digital services
- Personalization of content for citizens
Two prizes will be awarded: a first prize of 4,000 euros and a second prize of 2,000 euros.
Aina Hack is promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Secretaria de Polítiques Digitals i Secretaria de Telecomunicacions i Transformació Digital), organized byt the Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) and Eurecat, and with the collaboration of the Centre de Telecomunicacions i Tecnologies de la Informació de la Generalitat de Catalunya (CTTI), CIDAI, Fundació i2CAT, Google Cloud, Microsoft and NTT DATA.
