Last Wednesday, a new edition of the AI & Big Data Congress was inaugurated at the AXA Barcelona Auditorium, in which the Aina project had a notable presence. The congress, organized by the Center of Innovation for Data tech and Artificial Intelligence (CIDAI) and coordinated by Eurecat, was a meeting point between professionals, suppliers, companies and entities that are carrying out projects in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data.
The Aina project, developed by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), was present with an information stand during the two days that the congress took place. Aina aims to develop AI resources and language technologies (TL) in order to provide Catalan with the necessary infrastructure to develop applications based on AI and TL. In this sense, the congress was part of Catalonia’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy, Catalonia.AI, and the Aina project is one of the initiatives that form part of this strategy.
And this is how the Secretary of Digital Policies Gina Tost explained it, who emphasized that Catalonia.AI “is a tool available to the entire ecosystem. If challenges arise, we will offer a solution.” It should be remembered that the Aina project aims to ensure that the inclusion of Catalan in AI and TL applications is profitable and attractive for companies in the sector , promoting this sector in Catalonia and ensuring that citizens can participate in Catalan in the digital world at the same time level than speakers of a global language.
