Aina’s horizon: project status

More than 200 users logged in at some point, with an audience of more than 120 viewers for almost the entire conference. Users who followed the day were able to ask questions and issues. They also referred to the different demonstrations of the models developed by the BSC Language Technologies team. All technologies are available in the Aina Kit , a repository that collects models and datasets developed by the Aina Project.

Introducing the Flor 6.3 b model

The main novelty of the session was the presentation and demonstration of the new open source LLM Flor 6.3.b. It represents an improvement over Aina’s previous publication, the Águila7b model. Thus, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the linguistic infrastructure that is articulated through Aina’s artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. In this regard, the information on the language, speech and translation models developed and available in the Huggingface collection of the project was also updated.

Facilitate the adoption of Catalan

One of the key objectives of the project is to facilitate the adoption of Catalan by companies. For this reason, Aina is launching the Aina Open Innovation Contest with the aim of revitalizing the developer ecosystem. The details will be known during the coming year 2024. Aina’s successes are also the result of the activity of the Catalan linguistic community itself. According to the study ” A Large Language Model That Can Speak and Listen ” and highlighted by Marta Villegas “thanks to the campaign carried out in Common Voice within the framework of the Aina project, Catalan is one of the first languages on this platform, for about English”.
